RECYCLE EYE PRODUCTS

Are you aware that the global production and disposal of eyewear products generates millions of pounds of waste annually? Unfortunately, a significant portion of this waste finds its way into landfills or the ocean.

Urban Optiks Optometry is focused on environmentally friendly practices and using sustainable materials to reduce the environmental impact of our retail operation and the eyewear industry at large. Our dedication to sustainability extends beyond the products we provide and how we conduct business. We also consider the long-term impact of the eyewear we sell on the environment, even after it leaves our office and reaches your home.

Recycle Your Used Eyewear

The Lions Club is a well-known service organization that focuses on improving the quality of life for people around the world. Through the Lions Club Eyeglasses Recycling Program used eyeglasses are collected, refurbished, and then distributed to people in need, both here in the US, and in developing countries.

The program helps provide access to glasses who cannot afford them and reduces waste by repurposing used glasses. The Lions Club has been operating this program for decades, and their efforts have helped millions of people to see more clearly.

Drop off your used glasses at Urban Optiks today and help bring clearer vision to those in need.

Recycle Used Contacts, Blister Packs & Contact Lens Solution Bottles

Bausch + Lomb’s ONE by ONE Recycling and Biotrue Eye Care Recycling programs aim to recycle used contact lenses, blister packs, and related packaging that are not typically recyclable through regular waste programs. Administered in partnership with TerraCycle, these initiatives collect and repurpose these materials to reduce landfill waste and promote environmental sustainability in the eye care industry.

Participants can recycle all brands of contact lenses, including blister packs and foils. Once collected, these materials are melted down into plastic that can be repurposed for various applications.

Drop off your expired contact lenses or used blister packs at Urban Optiks today! We'll do the rest.
