With a circulation of almost a million subscribers, the readers of San Diego Magazine have selected Urban Optiks Optometry as the winner of  Best Eyeglass Store. Voters had the opportunity to vote for businesses both small and large recognizing the best in quality of products and services. We were previously honored to be voted Best Eyeglasses in San Diego in their Readers’ Choice Retail Awards. With a curious spirit and a deep love for our city, they give readers all they need to experience the best of #sdlife.

San Diego’s Favorite Eyeglass Store

Each year, The San Diego Union-Tribune conducts a “best of” readers poll in which readers are asked to vote for the “Best of the Best” in San Diego County. Votes are cast for businesses as an acknowledgment of providing excellent products & services. Readers nominate and recognize businesses they frequent in more than 175 categories. The awards recognize, not only the top vote-getters or “Best” in each category but also the runner-ups who are considered “Favorites.” With the immense competition in the “Best Eyeglass Store” category (including many of the big-box retailers) we are extremely proud to have been given this honor.

Best "Cool" Eyewear

Generational slang and colloquialisms come and go. One generation’s “that’s groovy” is another generation’s “that’s the bomb” is another generation’s “that’s lit.” But if there are two words that have somehow withstood the test of time and are still used regularly by both kids and adults, it’s “hot” and “cool.” San Diego City Beat’s first annual Best Of issue embraces the concept of “Hot & Cool.” So what makes something “hot” and what makes something “cool”? Well, while it’s obviously subjective, something that is “hot” is relatively new and/or has a lot of buzz and notoriety. Urban Optiks Optometry was selected as a “cool” pick, recognized for continuing to be, well, cool despite passing trends and moods.
